After the 5/3 Riverbank Run 2012..

Definitely thought I wouldn't be able to run the 25K..
It's amazing though what your body is capable of doing when you just put your mind to it. It went better than I had expected and I beat last year's time by 7 minutes! I did pay for it afterwards with aches and pains, but it was well worth it. The Riverbank Run is the largest road race in the country taking place in Grand Rapids, MI every year. With over 21,000 participants this year and thousands of people who come out to cheer them on. Alone it wouldn't be possible, but together with friends and family who cheer you on, it's such an exciting event to be a part of. If you hate running (like I used to), just try a race once—start with a 5K. Then there's no going back and you'll understand everyone else who's crazy about running. And it's worth it, at least just once, for the experience.
